Your trust matters to us. This policy explains, simply and honestly, what information Stoviro collects, why we need it, and the choices you have.
1. What we collect
Account details. Your name, email address and password when you sign up. Passwords are stored only as a secure one-way hash — we never see or store the password itself.
Your kitchen. The items you add to your inventory, such as names, quantities, categories, storage location, expiry dates, brands, barcodes, prices and notes.
Food preferences and allergies. The allergies, notes and settings you choose to save, so suggestions can avoid what you cannot eat. Allergy information can be sensitive, so we only use it to filter and explain suggestions for you.
What you ask for. The messages you write when asking for a suggestion (for example your mood, cravings, time and ingredients).
A hashed network address. If you use the free recipe generator without an account, we keep a one-way hash of your IP address so each visitor gets one free recipe. We never store the address itself.
Food you share. If you list food to share, the details you give us — what it is, when it is good until, your general area, and how to contact you.
Messages to us. Anything you send us by email.
2. What stays on your device
- Fridge photos. Images you pick in the scanner are read in your browser for a preview and are not uploaded to us.
- Guest kitchen. If you use Stoviro without an account, your inventory is saved in your browser's local storage, not on our servers. Clearing your browser data removes it.
3. How we use it
- To create and secure your account and keep you signed in.
- To show your kitchen and suggest recipes that fit what you have and need.
- To connect people sharing spare food with people nearby who need it.
- To reply to you, keep the Service safe, and prevent misuse.
- To understand what works and improve Stoviro.
6. How long we keep it
We keep your information for as long as your account is open. If you ask us to delete your account, we remove your account, kitchen, preferences and sessions, except where we must keep something to meet a legal obligation or resolve a dispute.
7. Your choices and rights
You can, at any time:
- Edit or remove items and allergy settings in the app.
- Ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Ask us to correct or delete it, or to close your account.
Depending on where you live (for example California or other US states), you may have additional rights under local privacy laws. To make any request, email basitsharif35@gmail.com from the address on your account. We will respond within 30 days and will never treat you differently for using your rights.
8. Security
We protect your data with hashed passwords, secure session cookies and encrypted connections. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a unique password and let us know straight away if you think your account has been accessed without permission.
9. Children
Stoviro is meant for adults and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has given us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
10. Where data is processed
Stoviro and its service providers may store and process information in the United States and other countries. By using the Service, you understand that your information may be transferred to countries whose data protection laws may differ from yours.
11. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page and, for significant changes, let you know in the app or by email. Please also read our Terms & Conditions.
