How Stoviro works
Every page of the app, section by section. Use the contents to jump to the page you're on.
Getting started
Open sign up →Make an account, add a few things you have, and ask what to cook.
Create an account
Sign up with your name, email and a password, or tap Continue with Google to use your Google account with no password to remember. If you already signed up with the same Gmail address, Google signs you into that same account.
Three steps to your first dinner
- Add what's in your fridge and cupboards on Kitchen inventory, or photograph the fridge with Fridge scanner.
- Open the AI recipe generator, set your mood and how long you have, and tap Generate my recipe with AI.
- Open a recipe and cook it, with Stoviro reading the steps aloud if you like.
Getting around
On a computer, every page is in the sidebar on the left, grouped into Cook, Kitchen, Track and Account. On a phone, the tab bar at the bottom holds Plan, Kitchen, AI Cook (the big button in the middle), Share and Track; Today's dashboard and Account settings sit in the top bar. Stoviro can also be installed like an app — look for Install the app.
AI recipe generator
Open AI recipe generator →The front door: one good answer to “what's for dinner?” from what you already have.
Your kitchen, mood and time
The controls on the left are shortcuts. They show the food in your kitchen (tap staples to add them), how you feel today, and how many minutes you have. Changing any of them takes effect straight away. If you have allergies set, they appear here as Keeping out.
Generate my recipe with AI
One tap, nothing to type. The AI uses whatever the controls say — it tells you which, for example “Uses the 5 things in your kitchen, a stressed mood and 25 minutes” — and shows the best matches. An empty kitchen still works: it picks well-loved dinners instead.
Talk to Stoviro
Below the button is a conversation. Type or tap the microphone and say what you want in your own words — “something spicy”, “quick, under 15 minutes”, “use what's going off”. The suggestion chips fill these in for you. Press Enter to send, Shift + Enter for a new line.
Stoviro searches its library of real recipes first. When that runs short it looks on recipe sites, which can take up to a minute; anything it finds is saved for next time.
Recipe details
Pick a recipe to see why it fits, what's already in your kitchen, what's missing (or “Nothing missing. You can start now.”), the steps, and the nutrition in one serving. Use the servings buttons to scale it.
A Halal pill means no pork, alcohol, gelatin or meat. Halal with halal meat means nothing haram is in it, as long as the meat you buy is halal. No pill means it isn't halal.
I ate this logs the servings to today in the Nutrition tracker.
Cook with voice
Cook mode reads each step aloud. Say next, back, repeat, ingredients, set a timer or stop, or just ask a question like “Can I use butter instead of oil?”. Turn on Go hands-free to keep it listening. Every voice command also has a button. Voice input works in Chrome, Edge and Safari; elsewhere, type questions and answers are still read aloud.
When you finish, Update your kitchen lists what the recipe used from your shelf with a best guess for each. Nothing changes until you tap Confirm changes.
Today's dashboard
Open Today's dashboard →A quick look at your kitchen and one suggestion for tonight.
Greeting
How many things you're holding, and how many are on the way out.
At a glance
In the kitchen counts the items you track. Use soon names the ones close to their date. The third card shows the mood Stoviro is reading you as.
Tonight's answer
The single best recipe for your shelf, mood and time right now, putting food that's going off first.
Meal planner
Open Meal planner →Seven dinners, one shop.
Planning the week
Tap Plan my week on the Meal planner to fill seven nights from your kitchen. Use the arrows to move between weeks. The totals at the top show how many dinners are planned and how many come from your kitchen.
Each night
- Change the mood for that night and the dinner changes to fit.
- Swap finds another dinner. Keep locks one you like so re-planning leaves it alone.
- Night off is for eating out, leftovers or someone else cooking. Plan a dinner brings it back.
- Each card says whether you need anything from the shop. Open it for the full recipe and cook mode.
- Re-plan open nights refreshes every night you haven't kept.
Shopping list
One list for the whole week, made from what the dinners need and you don't have. Tick items as you shop, then tap Add bought to kitchen so they're on your shelf.
Kitchen inventory
Open Kitchen inventory →Everything you have, kept true in a tap or two.
Tell AI what you have
Tap Tell AI what you have and just talk — “a dozen eggs, two pounds of chicken thighs, rice in the pantry”. It answers out loud, adds each grocery to your kitchen with the amount and place you mentioned, and asks a follow-up, like how many eggs or what's in the freezer. For fresh food it suggests when it usually goes off — “milk keeps about a week, so around Saturday” — and saves that date if you say yes, or asks you for the real one if you say no. Say “that's all” when you're done. Tap the mic to stop talking; you can type instead at any time.
Add items by hand
Tap Add items by hand. In the popup, type the food — that's all it needs — and optionally how much and whether it's in the fridge, freezer or pantry. Add details lets you record the date on the pack, whether it's opened, category, brand, price and notes. The popup stays open so you can add the next one; tap Done when finished.
Quick add chips add common staples in one tap. Ones you already have show a tick.
Finding food
Search by name or brand, or filter by Use soon, Opened, Fridge, Freezer, Pantry or Other. Food close to its date is listed first under Needs attention.
Using food
- Use — say how much you used: one, half, or “some left”.
- Finish — it's gone. You're offered to add it to the shopping list.
- More — open it (and say how many days it keeps once opened), move it, mark it “use soon”, edit details, or discard it with a reason. Discards help show what gets wasted; eaten food never counts.
Undo
Every change shows a message at the bottom with Undo, which puts the item back exactly as it was.
Shopping list
On the right (below the list on a phone). Add anything by typing, tick what you bought, then tap Bought — add to kitchen.
Fridge scanner
Open Fridge scanner →One photo instead of typing everything.
Take or upload a photo
Open the door, step back and get the shelves in. Good light helps Stoviro read labels. On a computer you can drop an image onto the page.
Check what it found
Stoviro lists what it sees and counts what it can. Fix any name, set amounts, and untick mistakes — anything it's unsure of (“maybe”) starts unticked. Items you already have are marked will update rather than added twice. Missed something? Type it at the bottom.
Add to my kitchen
Nothing is saved until you tap Add to my kitchen. Everything then lands in your Kitchen inventory, ready for the AI recipe generator.
Nutrition tracker
Open Nutrition tracker →What you've eaten, against what you meant to.
The day
Calories against your goal, plus protein, carbs, fat, fiber, sugar and sodium. Anything over a limit turns amber and says by how much. Use the arrows to see other days.
What you've eaten
Entries grouped by meal. Recipes are logged from their details or after cooking; add anything else yourself (“Turkey sandwich”). Remove an entry with its × button.
Last 7 days
A chart of calories or protein for the week, with your goal as a dashed line. Switch to a table for the exact numbers.
Daily goals
Set your own targets. Until you do, Stoviro uses the US Daily Values for a 2,000 kcal diet.
Account settings
Open Account settings →Your account, and what has to stay out of your food.
Your account
Change your name and see your email. Change password needs your current one, and signs you out everywhere else. If you sign in with Google, there's no password to change.
Allergies
Pick common allergens or type your own, and add a note (“Baked egg is fine, raw isn't”). Tap save — until you do, Stoviro keeps using your last saved list. Every suggestion is checked against it before you see it, and matching items on your shelf are flagged.
Signing out
